Dumpling Skin and New Burdock Miso Soup

Crunchy bacon, crispy new burdock and chewy dumpling skins (wantan-no-kawa). Enjoy and taste these different textures in this miso soup.

Ingredients (4 servings)

Wantan-no-kawa 4 pieces
Bacon 2 strips
New burdock 1/2
Dashi stock 800 cc
Miso 3-1/2 tablespoons

Directions

  1. Pan-fry the bacon until crispy and cut to 1-cm width. Cut the new burdock into thin sticks of 5 cm in length. Cut the wantan-no-kawa to 1-cm width.
  2. Bring the dashi stock to a boil, add the new burdock, bacon and wantan-no-kawa and cook.
  3. Lower the heat and dissolve the miso. Serve the miso soup in bowls.

★ A Note

Savory bacon increases the umami (good taste) of the other ingredients in this miso soup.
